Out Cohorts List Window

This window is where all the out cohorts (including death out cohorts) are listed.

This window has the following menu buttons available. (See the List Windows topic to learn more about list windows in general.)

  • New. Use this function to create a new out cohort.
  • Edit. Use this function to make changes to the out cohort.
  • Delete. Use this function to delete the out cohort. If an out cohort was created by mistake, it should be deleted as soon as possible or it becomes difficult (or impossible) for Fusion to correct the mistake. See the Handling Major Edits section of Out Cohort Edit Window for more information.
  • Advanced Find. For finding information within the list. See Advanced Find Window for more information.
  • Advanced Sort. For sorting the list. See Advanced Sort Window for more information.
  • Advanced Print. For printing information from the list. See Advanced Print Window for more information.
  • View Animals. If any animals were linked to the selected out cohort, you can use this function to have Fusion open the Animal list window showing only the linked animals. You can also open a child window to do the same thing.

Getting Here

You can open this window by going to Fusion Core → Cohorts → List Out Cohorts.

List Description

This list is where all the out cohorts are recorded. An out cohort is a group of one or more animals that are leaving the feedlot, whether because the animals dies, are being sent to slaughter, or any other reason. You can link individual animals to an out cohort. When you do so, those animals will become non-current. It is possible to set Fusion up so that death type out cohorts require animals to be linked.

Field Display Speed Description
Cohort Identifier Normal Each out cohort has an identifier. By default Fusion creates an identifier from the date and time when the out cohort was created, but you are free to change this however you like.
Manifest Number Normal This field records the manifest number if you keep track of one.
Location Normal This is the location of the out cohort.
Lot Normal This is the lot the out cohort is attached to. An out cohort can only consist of animals from one lot.
User Normal The user who created the out cohort.
Out Reason Normal This field records the type of out cohort. The possibilities are: Slaughter, Further Feeding, Cull, Death, Own Use, Other. Internally Fusion treats them all the same except for death cohorts.
Death Cause Normal If this is a death type out cohort, you can enter a death cause for this field. Death causes are user defined.
Did Post Mortem Normal Will be "Yes" if a port mortem was performed.
Out Date Normal The date the out cohort was created.

Dressed Weight (lb) Normal If you enter the dressing weight for all out cohorts in a lot, Fusion will use it to calculate carcass adjusted values for the lot.
Weights Are Accurate Normal Will be "Yes" once someone has indicated that the weights are accurate. When an out cohort it first created, iFusion will provide a default weight based on the current estimated weight of the animals in the out cohort. The person creating the out cohort can change this weight, but you may not the exact weight until later on. This field can help you know whether the weights have been checked yet or not.
Total Out Dollars Normal The total dollars received for selling these animals.
Dollars Are Accurate Normal Will be "Yes" once you have indicated to Fusion that the price has been checked and is accurate.
Invoice Date Normal The invoice date may be different than the out date for the cohort and can be recorded here.

Trucking Company Slow You can record the trucking company who moved the cattle from your feedlot here.
Trucking Company Phone Slow The phone number of the trucking company.

Vet Phone Slow The phone number of the vet.
Brand Release Normal If desired, a brand release can be recorded here.
Gross (lb) Normal This is the total gross weight for the out cohort.
Shrink Normal This is the shrinkage assigned to the gross weight.
Net (lb) Normal This is the net weight after the shrinkage has been applied to the gross weight.
Avg Pay Weight (lb) Normal This field is for display and printing only as it is calculated on the fly. It is the average dollars per animal.
Out Dollars (per lb) Normal This field is for display and printing only as it is calculated on the fly. It is the average dollars per weight unit.
Lot Overrides Very Slow In some cases, individual out cohort information is not completely correct and cannot be corrected. When that happens, it is possible to override key information (out count, out dollars, out weight) at the lot level for better closeouts. If this out cohort's lot has overriden the out values, this field will be "Yes". Note that it is for display purposes only as it is calculated on the fly. Also note that while overriding used to be common before cohorts could be edited, this should now be rare.
Entity Information Normal A textual description of what cattle were included in the out cohort. It will describe the pen, lot, and sublot (as necessary) that left the feedlot.
Did Specify All of Entity Normal Will be "Yes" if the user just asked that all animals in the pen be be included without specifying an exact number.
Entity Was In Pen Normal The pen the animals were in when the out cohort was created. As mentioned above, animals in an out cohort must all be from the same lot. They must also all be from the same pen.
Note Normal You can add a note about this out cohort for display here.
