Contacts List Window

This window is where all the contacts are listed. Contacts can either be a company or a person.

This window has the following menu buttons available. (See the List Windows topic to learn more about list windows in general.)

  • New Company. Use this function to create a new company.
  • New Company. Use this function to create a new person.
  • Edit. Use this function to make changes to the contact and related information.
  • Delete. Use this function to delete the contact. Note that you can only delete things in Fusion if they are not used anywhere else. This is so Fusion has a complete history.
  • Find. This is a little different than the Advanced Find function. Instead of looking for specific things it will search all contact related information at the same time and list any contacts that match. This includes phone numbers, addresses, keywords, etc.
  • Advanced Find. For finding information within the list. See Advanced Find Window for more information.
  • Advanced Sort. For sorting the list. See Advanced Sort Window for more information.
  • Advanced Print. For printing information from the list. See Advanced Print Window for more information.

Getting Here

You can open this window by going to Fusion Core → Contacts → List Contacts.

List Description

This is where a list of all the contacts in Fusion are located. Contacts can be companies or individuals and can have associated addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and more. It is also possible to associate contacts with other contacts. For example, you could associate all the employees with the company they work for.

Field Display Speed Description
Type Normal A contact can be a Company or Person.
Display Name Normal Fusion automatically concatenates the contact's names to create the display name which can be used in printing and for other uses.
Primary Phone Normal If the contact has a primary phone number, it will be shown here.
Note Normal Each contact has a note field where you can enter general notes about the contact.
Company Name Normal If the contact is a company, this will be the name of the contact. In this case, the Display Name will be the same as this field.
Person Prefix Normal If the contact is a person, you can enter a prefix (ex. Dr., Mr., Mrs., etc.) here if you like.
Person First Name Normal The person's first or common name.
Person Middle Names Normal You can enter a person's middle names if you like.
Person Last Name Normal The person's last or surname goes here.
Person Suffix Normal If the person has a suffix (ex. Jr.), it can be entered here.
Person Nickname Normal If the person has a nickname, you can enter it here. It doesn't become part of the display name, but it can be searched on.
Primary Physical Address Not Tested If the contact has a primary address, it will show up here.
Primary Website Not Tested If the contact has a primary website, it will show up here.
Primary Land Location Not Tested If the contact has a primary land location, it will show up here.
Primary GPS Address Not Tested If the contact has a primary GPS address, it will show up here.
Primary Other Address Not Tested If the contact has a primary "other" address, it will show up here. An "other" address can be anything you want other than what Fusion already supports (mailing, GPS, land location, website, email).
Primary Email Address Not Tested If the contact has a primary email address, it will show up here.
Any Category Normal This "field" is only for searching. If you search with this field, it will return and contacts who are associated with the category you enter in the search field. Contacts can be associated with multiple categories which you can make up.
Any Keyword Normal This "field" is only for searching. If you search with this field, it will return and contacts who are associated with the keyword you enter in the search field. Contacts can be associated with multiple keywords which you can make up.
