Fusion 4.8 Release Notes

This version of Fusion has some bug fixes and a few small features. The bulk of the work went toward under-the-hood improvements and support for several new features in Fusion Anywhere.

New Features

  • Fusion now has support for a generic micro machine. This means that Fusion can support new micro machines immediately if they follow our spec—no need for a new version of Fusion.
  • There is a new permission named "Exceed max capacity of truck". When this permission is turned off, drivers will not be allowed to build a load where the target quantity will exceed the capacity of the truck, based on ration density. For those who have this permission turned on, they will see a warning about the capacity being exceeded but will have the option to build the load anyway.
  • The Month End Lock date is now respected when changing the lot or location of animals in the Bulk Update window. Previous to this it was possible that moving animals could affect billing prior to the lock date based on related drug or input events.
  • We're using newly available network settings that should improve network stability with Fusion Client to some degree. (Some customers were manually switched to these settings while using Fusion 4.7, so they won't see any additional improvements in Fusion 4.8.)
  • Experimental AI Data Export: A new AI button in the Lot Center, Pen List, and Animal List windows lets you export selected records as JSON files for use with AI tools such as ChatGPT and Claude. This research feature allows you to explore your own data using natural-language questions. We are actively gathering user feedback to help shape a fully integrated AI feature in a future release. Click the help button in the AI Playground window to learn how to use this feature.

Fusion Anywhere Features

Fusion 4.8 unlocks the following new features in Fusion Anywhere:

  • You can add new arrivals.
  • You can record deaths.
  • You can add new shipments.
  • You can record pen movements.
  • You can create new lots.
  • You can do a bulk yardage adjustments for several or all lots at the same time.

Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where Fusion wouldn't allow FRM billing for closed lots. (Also fixed in build 5017.)
  • Fixed an issue with the Easy Automation micro machine integration. (Also fixed in build 5018.)
  • Added ability for additional logging to be started for tracking down issues.
  • The Feed Guard message could be cut off so the whole message couldn't be read. Fixed.
