Fusion 4.7 Release Notes

Build 5016; Build Date: 2025-09-22

Fusion Anywhere Compatibility

For years now, our most requested feature was for mobile access to Fusion. Starting with this version, Fusion is compatible with a new product we are offering called Fusion Anywhere.

Fusion Anywhere brings remote access to your local Fusion system without migrating your data to the cloud and without any technical setup. Your data stays right where it is: on-site, private, and under your control. At the same time, you can securely access it from anywhere in the world using just a web browser or mobile device. That means your employees, consultants, and partners stay connected while your system, data history, and security remain unchanged.

Fusion Anywhere is currently in beta. Please contact us if you are interested in testing it at your yard.

Here are the changes to be aware of which make it possible to use Fusion Anywhere at your yard:

  • A new section, named Fusion Anywhere, was added to the Preferences window and can be used to determine whether Fusion can be connected to Fusion Anywhere for your yard.
  • A new window, Fusion Anywhere Status, was added. Here you can see whether Fusion is currently connected to Fusion Anywhere. It can also be used for troubleshooting.
  • The User Edit window has additional functionality for setting up a connection between local user accounts in Fusion and a user account in Fusion Anywhere. The locations that a user is allowed to access is determined here.
  • The Group Permissions window has new sections for Fusion Anywhere related functions so you can determine what Fusion Anywhere users are allowed to do independently of what they can do when using Fusion directly.

Micro Inclusion Calculator

Do you worry about the accuracy of your ration formulations, especially the micro ingredients? In Fusion 4.5 we introduced a feature that allows you to define threshold value to ensure micro inclusion rates don't accidentally get out of whack. In Fusion 4.7 we are addressing another concern which is figuring out the inclusion percentage in the first place. New in the Ration Edit window is the Micro Inclusion Calculator. Click it when you add a micro ingredient and it will help you figure out the correct percentage.

New Sale Type Field in Out Cohorts

We added a new field to the Out Cohort edit window for tracking the sale type. Possible values are Base Formula, Base Grid, Cash, Contract, Formula, Grid, and Net Settlement. Or you can leave it undefined. This should be generally useful, but especially helpful for yards submitting information to CanFax.

Pen Rider and Diagnosis Events

Have you wished you could keep track of who pulled an animal being treated? Now you can. When diagnosing an animal there is a new Pulled By (Pen Rider) field which can be used to enter the pen rider. Even better, if a Pen Rider is using Fusion Anywhere to view an animal's synopsis while in the pen, they'll be able to click a button on their phone to indicate they're pulling this animal while optionally adding information such as the symptoms they are seeing or the reasoning behind the pull. If the animal is treated on the same day, the pen rider's name will automatically be filled in and the information they entered is available to be read before making a diagnosis.

Please note that we renamed and moved the Protocol/Treatment Schedule button to Protocol... to make room for the new field.

Remote Display Ingredient Names

Do you have a remote display on your truck that can show alpha characters? If you do, you'll appreciate some additional options in the Remote Display settings window. With these new settings, you can have Fusion display the ingredient name on the remote display for a few seconds before returning back to displaying the weight each time a new ingredient is selected.

New Comco Micro Machine Integration

If you have a Comco micro machine, you may benefit from our new "Comco Databridge" integration which has a more robust communication system and supports Comco machines with integrated liquid and micro gravity dispensers. The old integration will continue to work, but we encourage switching to the new one when possible.

FRM Integration

If you were using the iFHMS integration, you'll need to switch to the new FRM integration when you upgrade. Please coordinate this with Telus and our support team prior to the upgrade. Following are the steps that will need to be taken in Fusion immediately upon upgrading:

  • Change the name of the "iFHMS Event Charge" input to "FRM Event Charge".
  • Change the name of the "iFHMS Procedure Charge" input to "FRM Procedure Charge".
  • Note that the "iFHMS Occupancy Charge" input will no longer be used. However, you may not be able to delete it if it was ever used in the past.
  • Add a new input named "FRM Post Mortem Charge".
  • Add a new input named "FRM Other Fee Charge".
  • Change the name of the "iFHMS Drug Charge" drug to "FRM Drug Charge".
  • Go to the FRM section of the Preferences window and add each location you use FRM at, entering the API key which can be obtained from Telus. Processing of each location will begin within a couple minutes of saving the Preferences window.
  • Become familiar with the FRM Status window and read the FRM related documentation.

Quality of Life Improvements

Here are a few more changes, additions, and quality of life enhancements.

  • Four new pieces of information have been added to the printed scale house load ticket. The Converted Net Weight and Note field were already in the Scale House Load Processing window and now appear on the printed ticket. In addition, Fusion now shows the average weight of cattle and the bushel count in both the processing window and on the printed ticket.
  • It could take awhile to show a menu after clicking the gear button beside most list windows in poor network conditions. This function has been reworked and should now be fast in any condition.
  • In the bunk call indicator list, we've changed the behavior of two indicators slightly. First, we renamed the "DMI%BW (Yesterday)" indicator to "DMI%BW". Second, both this indicator and the "Feed Delivery Accuracy" indicator used to be calculated for the day previous to whatever date you were looking at. This was handy when looking at the current day because these values might not be useful if feeding wasn't finished for the day. But it was confusing for every other day because the values didn't reflect the correct day. Starting with this version these indicators reflect what happened on the actual day. Of course, this means that they won't reflect a full day of feeding for today if you're still feeding, but you can always look at yesterday's value to get this information.
  • We added six new fields to the Lot Info Export: "SaleType" exists with the out cohorts and "PulledByUserUUID" exists with the diagnoses. Also, "InvoiceNumber", "InvoiceDate", and "InvoiceIsPaid" fields for both in and out cohorts
  • Marking animals as non-current in the Bulk Update window automatically wipes out their home and current pen. Previously one had to remember to do this manually and it was easy to forget, causing issues with Fusion showing animals as current in some reports when they really weren't current anymore.

Bug Fixes

  • Using the SSL setting for Lot Info Export uploads was failing for some types of FTP accounts. It should now work for all types.
  • Two settings in the Remote Display settings window (Prepend String and Pad number to) were ignored. They will work as intended now.
  • An error could be shown in the Cattle section of the Inventory window when one of the break down checkboxes was clicked. This is fixed.
  • When copying to the clipboard in the Inventory Summary window's Cattle section, one of the columns of data was in the wrong position. This is fixed.
  • When testing communication from the micro machine settings window, Fusion would sometimes use saved values rather than what was in the window, causing tests to fail in unexpected ways. This is fixed.

We want to thank those of you who took the time to report the bugs you've found. If you encounter any bugs or if you would like to request new features or if you would like more information on features in this version, please contact our support team directly.
