This video shows how to upgrade Fusion Truck when a new update comes to your yard.
Time: 1:44
Upgrading to a new version of Fusion is usually a pretty smooth process. You don’t need to worry about when Fusion Server updates itself—it takes care of that automatically in the middle of the night. The next time you launch Fusion Truck, log in, and sync, it will detect if it needs to update to a new version.
Most of the time, Fusion Truck will already have the install file ready by the time you’re prompted to update. But if it doesn’t, it will download the file now and show you the progress as it goes. Once the download is complete, just click the Install button.
During the upgrade process, there will be a short time when the application shuts down, and before the new version launches, you’ll see the Desktop. Resist the urge to double-click the Fusion Truck icon during this time—it could interfere with the upgrade. Just be patient; on slower computers, the upgrade might take up to 30 seconds.
When the new version launches, you can log in as usual. You’ll also have the opportunity to check out the release notes, which we recommend reading so you’re up to date on what’s changed in Fusion. After that, don’t forget to do a full sync using the Full Sync window if it’s the start of your day.
If, for any reason, the automatic upgrade fails, don’t worry about it. The best approach is to go to the Downloads section of our website and install the update manually from there. If it’s easier, you can use the Open Website button in the Upgrade window to go straight to the right page.
