Upgrading to a new version of Fusion is usually pretty straightforward. You don’t need to worry about when Fusion Server updates—it takes care of that automatically in the middle of the night. The next time you launch Fusion Client, it will detect if it needs to update to a new version. When that happens, just click the Update button.

During the upgrade, there will be a moment when the application shuts down, and before the new version launches, you’ll see the Desktop. Don't double-click the Fusion Client icon during this time, as it could disrupt the upgrade process. Be patient—it can take up to 30 seconds on slower computers for the upgrade to complete.

Once the new version launches, you can log in as usual. If you’re the first person to upgrade, you’ll see the Software License Agreement, which you’ll need to accept. After that, you’ll have the opportunity to read the release notes. We recommend taking a few moments to review them so you’re aware of any changes or new features in Fusion.

If, for any reason, the automatic upgrade doesn’t work, don’t fight it. Just head to the Downloads section of our website and install the update manually from there.
