Fusion 4.4
Build Date: 2023-04-14
New Features
- Do you have trouble with information changing after a lot has been closed? This version introduces a new feature called Month End Lock. When an admin with the correct permissions sets a lock date, information that could affect invoicing and closeouts can no longer be edited if it was prior to the lock date. Change the lock date each time you finish your month end and you won't have to worry about historical data accidentally being changed any more. Go to to access this feature.
- Have your employees ever accidentally canceled a chuteside job? This can be extremely frustrating. Fusion now sports a large red dialog when asking about canceling a job so it can't be mistaken for other dialogs. We also show a large green dialog when confirming that a job is to be finalized. This should greatly reduce the number of accidental job cancelations.
- If you've had a truck driver forget to click Record Weight on the last ingredient of the load, you'll appreciate this new feature. Fusion now intelligently looks for this situation and warns the driver if it looks like they forgot to record the last weight.
- Three new columns have been added to the built-in yard sheet reports: Originating Herd, Estimated Slaughter Date, and Dry Matter Intake as Percent of Body Weight.
- Ever treated an animal, only to realize it'll still be in withdrawal when it's ready to ship? We've added a new capability to chuteside jobs so this doesn't happen. A new data point named "Withdrawal Past Estimated Slaughter" will be true whenever a drug in the job will cause the withdrawal to go past the estimated slaughter date for the animal. This data point can be shown on the job HUDs. It can also be used as a sort criteria. And we've added a new built-in sorting template that uses this data point to show a large warning when needed. The latter can easily be added to your existing jobs.
- Until now, Fusion could only connect to an RFID reader. New in this version is the ability to connect to multiple tag readers. Each one is assigned a specific field in the Physical Computer Management window—the RFID field or one of the custom ID fields. For readers connected to the RFID field, Fusion continues to work as it has in the past. Other readers make it simpler to automatically push information into the custom ID fields. Related to this change:
- RFID Reader has been renamed to Tag Readers in the Physical Computer Management window.
- The tag reader setup window has been updated to allow multiple readers to be defined. Each must now be associated with an ID field. Only one reader can be connected with each ID field.
- The Change Custom ID subjob in the chuteside Job Definition window has a new Entry Type option named Tag Reader. Use this option to have the reader associated with this custom ID field automatically fill in the tag value from the reader if it isn't empty. Or use the overwrite option to force it to change every time.
- During a chuteside job, a new button has been added to the Change Custom ID subjob which can be used to manually ask the reader to scan a new tag at any time, even if the subjob was added on the fly.
- The Job Options window had an option to log RFID activity to disk. This was renamed to make it apparent that all reader activity is now logged to disk. Each reader will have its own log file.
- We added a new report in the Fusion Office area named Ration Info Report which will print a list of rations with the information found in the Ration Info window.
- If animals are included in a Lot Info Export file, the Meta.json file now includes information about the user-given labels for each of the five custom ID fields. See the new "AssociatedItems.AnimalCustomIDs" key.
- Truck drivers are acquainted with the dialog explaining they have temporary files that need to be deleted. To make it easier to stay on top of this problem, we've added a button to that window which can be used to immediately delete these files. These files continue to build up and should be removed from time to time.
Bug Fixes
- Fusion was not displaying the truck's speed with certain models of GPS devices. This is now fixed.
- When an RFID reader was set up in a certain configuration (ex. Bluetooth to Serial), if the connection was lost during a job Fusion didn't give an option to reconnect. This is fixed.
- Sometimes an unnamed scale head could appear in the Physical Computer Management window. This is fixed and shouldn't happen again. If there are existing unnamed scale heads, they will now automatically be labeled as such so they are visible and can be dealt with.
- The Blended From Previous field was set to 0 for ingredients that were in the previous load, but not in the ration they were being blended into. This is fixed. Note that this bug did not affect billing, but it could have affected inventory by very small amounts.
- In the Daily Feed Detail window, the list of ingredients has a Blended From Previous column which always rounded the displayed value to 0 decimals. It now rounds to 3 decimals when displaying a micro ingredient.
- In rare cases you might choose a ration, rather than a load, to blend into load being built. This would cause an internal error which is now fixed.
