Fusion 4.0
Build Date: 2020-10-29

Windows 7 is no longer officially supported. If you run into problems, you will need to upgrade to Windows 10. |
New Features and Changes
- We are happy to introduce a new health tool. Morbidity Insights shows a quick overview of the current health of your feedlot and the direction it is trending. From there you can dive into individual diagnoses to get insight into why the incidence rage might be trending up or down. The tool mines an enormous amount of data in an attempt to surface clues to help you determine the cause of health issues, saving hours or days of time.
- Calculated columns in Advanced Print Reports now have the ability to do simple date math. For example, you can subtract two different dates to get the number of days between them or add/subtract days to/from a date to get a new date. See the documentation for details.
- Three new functions were added to calculated columns: DateFromDaysSince2000, DateFromWeeksSince2000, and DateFromMonthsSince2000.
- A number of new links between list windows have been added:
- Chuteside Events list window to the Input Events list window.
- Chuteside Batch list window directly to the Drug Events list window.
- Chuteside Batch list window directly to the Input Events list window.
- Chuteside Batch list window directly to the Diagnosis Events list window.
- Chuteside Batch list window directly to the Treatment Events list window.
- Bunk Call Events list window to the Pen List window.
- Diagnosis Definition List window to the Animals List window (for animals that currently have this diagnosis).
- Diagnosis Definition List window to the Animals List window (for animals that ever had this diagnosis).
- Contact List window to the Lot Center window via the In Cohort Buyer field.
- Contact List window to the Lot Center window via the In Cohort Source field.
- Contact List window to the Lot Center window via the In Cohort Originating Herd field.
- Contact List window to the Lot Center window via the In Cohort Trucking field.
- Diagnosis Event window to the Pen List window.
- Pen List window to the Diagnosis Event window.
- The Generation 2 Lot Info Export will now export new kinds of data:
- The Meta file can now include trucks, users, and feeding protocols that are referenced in the rest of the export.
- In the lot files, there is now an option to include an animal's pen movements in the animals section.
- New files can be exported with information for pens outside of a lot perspective. This can include the last x days of bunk calls, feed deliveries, and day summaries for each pen.
- Similarly, feed loads from the last x days can also be exported into a file.
- A new key named LinkedInCohortUUID is now exported in the Animals section.
- A new key named PulledFromPenUUID is now exported in the diagnoses events section.
- Fusion now keeps track of the pen an animal was pulled from with each diagnosis event. There are two changes related to this new feature:
- Upon upgrading, Fusion will do its best to backfill this information for existing diagnosis events. This is the algorithm that is used for each diagnosis event:
- Fusion checks to see what pen the animal was is just prior to the diagnosis event, based on the animal movement history. If it finds a pen it then checks to see if this pen matches one of the pens the animal's lot was known to be in on the day of the diagnosis. This is done as a sanity check. If the check passes, Fusion uses that pen as the pulled from pen for the diagnosis event. Otherwise it go to the next step.
- Fusion next checks to see if the animal currently has a home pen assigned to it. This will only be true for current animals, but these are also the animals you most likely still care about when you upgrade to this version of Fusion. If the animal's home pen is one of the pens the animal's lot is in on the diagnosis event day, it will be used. Otherwise we go to the next step.
- Lastly, Fusion figures out the principle pen for the lot on the day of the diagnosis event. The principle pen is the one that had the most animals from the lot in it. If multiple pens have the same count, the higher average weight will determine which pen wins. The principle pen of the lot is assigned to the diagnosis event. If a pen is still not assigned by this point, the pulled from pen will be left blank.
- There is now a new field in the Diagnosis subjob labeled Pulled From. This field will be visible when a new diagnosis is being given to an animal and should be used to make sure the pen the animal was pulled from is entered. Fusion will default to the animal's home pen, if it knowns it. If not, a dialog will be shown so you can pick the correct pen. (The diagnosis pulled from pen can be different from the pens associated with relocating the animal.)
- In printed reports, the headers and address area will now automatically reduce the font size if needed to ensure no text is cut off.
- Emergency Chuteside Jobs should be a bit more robust now. Fusion will explain more clearly when it is unable to load a job which can lead to the necessary steps so the job can be loaded.
- Fusion Truck now checks to see how full your disk is during launch and will warn before it gets too full so it can be taken care of before it becomes a data loss issue.
- The server administration window now shows the actual person logged in when looking at the users and processes lists.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue that made it impossible to change the name or address of the feedlot identity.
- Fusion was incorrectly sending CCIA a move in event along with an import event for imported cattle. This is fixed.
- Transitioning a new location will no longer fire off a backup first when it is not the first transitioned location.
- Fixed a very rare issue that could cause the server to hang when it was updating animal information during the night.
- The drug and input sections of the Inventory Summary window show the average cost, market value, and bill at values to three decimal places. However, a bug was causing these values to be rounded internally to only 2 decimal places. This has been fixed.
- It was possible to change the location of a pen after it was edited, although this should not have been allowed. This has been fixed.
- There was a bug that caused certain backup settings to not be saved. This is fixed.
- Fixed an issue where feeding protocols didn't work correctly if the units for animal weights and feeding were different.
- Fixed an issue in the Bunk Call/Feed Delivery window where BW%DMI information was incorrect if the units for animal weights and feeding were different.
Known Issues
In the Fusion Lot List tab of the Projections Calculator window, it may be necessary to click the clear button inside the search field to get a selection of lots to work with. This will be fixed in a future version.
Cross Platform Change
Due to security related changes by Apple and Microsoft, Fusion Client can no longer auto update itself cross platform. This means that if you have a Mac client and Windows server, or a Windows client and Mac server, the auto update for that computer will not work. Instead, you'll need to update using Fusion Installer. Auto update does still work when the server and client are running the same OS which is the case for most people.
