Scale System

On truck and chuteside computers, Fusion can be connected to a scale system (see Physical Computer Management Window). During normal usage, Fusion will automatically connect to and disconnect from the the scale system as needed. It also manages opening the Scale Indicator window and placing it and the rest of the system in the correct mode, whether it be for weighing animals or loading and delivery feed in a truck. However, there may be times when you need to manage the running of the scale system manually. For example, if you are setting up the hardware and need to test it or if you are using Fusion Truck as a dumb scale indicator before transition day.

You can place the scale system in different modes manually by choosing the following options from Fusion Admin → Utilities, Fusion Truck Main Menu → Options, or Fusion Truck Main Menu → Options, depending on where you are working from.

  • Scale System—Idle. If the scale system is already on, this mode will keep Fusion connected to the device, but will not read any weights.
  • Scale System—Simple. Use this mode to connect to the scale indicator and simple show the weight. The only function available is it the ability to zero the scale. This is a good option if you are simply checking to see the scale system works.
  • Scale System—Weigh. Use this mode if you are using Fusion Truck as a dumb scale indicator until you have transitioned.
  • Scale System—Raw. If you use this mode, Fusion will show the raw values coming from the scale head, ignoring any internal offsets and rounding.
  • Scale System—Off. This option turns the scale system off, disconnecting it from the device. If the Scale Indicator window is open, it will stay open, but you can close it manually if needed.
