Sync Activity Window
Fusion keeps track of every request that comes into the sync engine. If you are trouble-shooting syncing issues, this window, which shows information for these attempts, may be helpful.
The window shows sync activity for one day at a time. Enter the date you want to look at in the Show Sync Activity For This Date field. The list will be updated.
If you believe more sync activity has occurred since you opened the window, click the Refresh button to have Fusion update the list.
Let's look at each of the columns in the list.
- Port. Shows the port the server was listening on when the communication began. It will almost always be the same, but if the port was changed recently that will show up here.
- User. Shows the user who initiated the request from the truck. It can be <unknown> for some kinds of requests.
- Truck Computer. Shows the name of the truck computer (as entered in the truck's Physical Computer Management window). It also shows a 3 digit code that uniquely identified the computer in the truck. This isn't known for all kinds of requests.
- Start Time. Shows the time the request started.
- Elapsed Time. Shows how long the request lasted before is finished successfully or the connection was terminated because of an error.
- Request Type. Shows what kind of request the truck was attempting.
- Status. Shows whether the sync finished successfully.
- Lay Down Seconds. The time to take the records sent from the truck and save them in Fusion Server. Only applies to sync communications where the truck sends data.
- Gather Records Seconds. The time to find all the records to be sent back to the truck. Only applies to sync communications.
- Total Server Seconds. The total time taken by the server for the entire communication session. It doesn't include the time the truck takes preparing for the communication and the time the truck takes to save new records after the communication.
- Incoming Record Count. The number of records sent from the truck. Only applies to sync communications where the truck sends records communications.
- Outgoing Record Count. The number of records being sent back to the truck. Only applies to sync communications.
- In MB Compressed. The amount of data (request body only), in MB, that was sent from the truck to the server during this communication. Data is compressed during the transmission, so this is the actual amount that was in flight.
- In MB Uncompressed. And this is the amount of data (request body only) sent from the truck before it was compressed.
- Out MB Compressed. The amount of data (response body only), in MB, that was sent to the truck from the server during this communication. Data is compressed during the transmission, so this is the actual amount that was in flight
- Out MB Uncompressed. And this is the amount of data (response body only) sent to the truck before it was compressed.
To get a log of what happened during the sync from the server's perspective, Double-Click any row in the list. A window showing the activity log will be shown. This information is normally used by us when troubleshooting an issue and may have little meaning to you.
